Upcoming regional emergency management training workshops

Hello Australasian Institute of Emergency Services Executive Members,

This message is to share with you some information concerning the upcoming 'Risk and Recovery' workshops in NSW, ACT, Qld, and Victoria that may be relevant to your members.
ACIM Solutions is a corporate member of AIES and is a nationally accredited Registered Training Organisation (#41002). To read more about us please go to
ACIM Solutions has a relationship with the United Nations Institute of Training and Research (UNITAR) and CIFAL and all our EM qualifications are issued with these logos as part of their endorsement.

Workshop Information

We are running the workshops to support our students who are residing in regional areas and would like to access face:face workshops closer to them as part of undertaking the nationally accredited qualifications:

  • Advanced diploma of Public Safety (Emergency Management) PUA60112 and
  • The Diploma of Public Safety (Emergency Management) PUA52312

The programs and the workshops are open to both paid professionals and volunteers. We have a number of volunteers who secured federal scholarships with the Australasian Institute of Disaster Resilience (AIDR) and the regional workshops are also designed to support those learners as well.

The workshops are also open to attend as either a) professional development only i.e., so no assessment required and b) as part of a program, where upon successful completion participants can achieve six (6) units of competency towards either qualification.

Participants can do just the workshop units or elect to continue on after and achieve the full qualification.

Guest speakers: We are confirming our local guest speakers at present, however have secured Nadine Hulme | Principal Project Manager, Resilience and Recovery NSW Office of Emergency Management to do a short presentation and a Q and A session for our participants at the Penrith workshop about the strategic government approach to Recovery operations.

Similarly, if you had any suggestions for particular guest speakers that might be interested in sharing their recent leadership experience in managing recovery functions or strategic risk management, please get in touch. We would love to hear your thoughts.

How to participate

Numbers are limited however we would appreciate you making your membership aware of this great opportunity. ACIM Solutions is working hard to provide nationally accredited emergency management leadership workshop programs in face to face format more accessible to our community, but will need the support of the emergency management community to continue to make them an option.

If your area is not listed and you believe you could support a local workshop on these topics or other nationally accredited units, please get in touch!

Please contact either myself on the details below or Anita Crane on to register or to discuss further.
